It took me many years to discover the ideal onewhite T-shirt, which is amusing since I believed it would be one of the simplest things to purchase.
Why? Well, they’re constantly present: Just this year alone,Jennifer Aniston, Jennifer Lopez, Jennifer Lawrence, and Zoey Deutcheveryone has worn the versatile essential that pairs well with jeans, skirts, and other outfits. And over the past three years I’ve been part of the Muara Digital Team, I’ve personally handled similar ones likeReese Witherspoon and Katie Holmesamong them and have observed numerous others, such as Kendall Jenner and Kate Middleton, sporting them long before I began covering fashion.
But unfortunately, most of the t-shirts I tried were either poorly fitted, overly sheer, or just way too costly — until I foundthe one. I’m posting it below, along with additional suggestions from my shopping team colleagues.

“For me, the collar is what distinguishes a quality white T-shirt from an ordinary one. It absolutely must not, and I emphasize, must not, cause me ‘bacon neck.’ After a few washes, this is typically unavoidable — but it hasn’t occurred with this under-$50 Cos purchase. It’s completely opaque and the fabric is on the thicker side, which, in my opinion, makes it appear as though I spent significantly more than $45 on it. My ideal T-shirt requires a breathable material, a loose fit, and sleeves that are neither too short nor too long. This Gap design meets all these requirements.and then some. I have four in total — two white, two black. They are crafted from a soft, lightweight cotton blend that’s comfortable to wear on its own during warmer weather and perfect for layering under wool sweaters in the fall and winter. Universal Thread Short Sleeve Crew Neck T-Shirt

This basic white t-shirt represents my ideal fit. It’s not overly tight, yet not excessively loose, and the length sits perfectly at hip level, allowing me to tuck it in or leave it out without losing my shape. I like that it is made entirely of cotton, giving it a very soft feel and making it simple to remove stains using bleach.
