[Music] Welcome to Drive Culture. I’m Jonathan Rivers. Today, we’re looking at the 2025 Acura ADX A-Spec Advance, and I’ll discuss why this is among the top subcompact luxury SUVs available. Pricing & Trims
The 2025 Acura ADX marks the brand’s initial foray into this compact SUV category. Acura has consistently provided the RDX, MDX, and the all-electric ZDX, yet prior to this, there was no model positioned beneath them. The ADX functions as the entry-level SUV, similar to how the Integra acts as the entry-level sedan.
Pricing begins around $35,000 MSRP, though fully equipped models such as this A-Spec Advance trim reach $44,000 prior to additional charges for paint, delivery, and handling.
This one is painted in Acura’s Urban Gray Pearl, a gray tone featuring a yellow speckle that becomes visible under sunlight.
Exterior
The outside features Acura’s newest design style. The sharp hood lines, raised fenders, and new headlights create a dynamic appearance. The headlights include a single large LED projector with a unique checkmark-shaped daytime running light. Acura logos are also engraved into the housings.
The grille incorporates Acura’s “diamond pentagon” design, featuring the emblem at the center along with integrated elements such as the 360-degree camera and front parking sensors.
Dealer-installed options for this model consist of a front spoiler extension and a rear lip kit, providing subtle aesthetic enhancements. The lower front lip is coated in silver regardless of the vehicle’s exterior color, and functional vents help cool the turbocharged engine.
From the side, the ADX appears more compact than the RDX, featuring black trim, A-Spec emblems, and 19-inch Berlina Black wheels equipped with Continental all-season tires. The mirrors are power-folding and include built-in LED turn signals.
At the back, the appearance is accentuated by a roof spoiler, a slanted rear window, and LED tail lights that feature the same checkmark design as the headlights. Two exhaust pipes and a glossy black rear diffuser complete the style.
Interior
Inside, the A-Spec Advance model offers a luxurious experience featuring leather, suede accents, and red interior fabric. The contrasting stitching is visible on the dashboard, door panels, and seats. The seats provide excellent support, along with ventilation and heating functions, and offer power adjustments for both the driver and passenger.
The steering wheel features a flat bottom, is covered in leather, and includes heating functionality, along with prominent metal paddle shifters and A-Spec branding.
The technology features a 10.2-inch digital dashboard and a 9-inch display with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. Google Built-In offers Maps, Assistant, and access to the Play Store, enabling app downloads directly to the vehicle.
Additional features consist of a panoramic moonroof, several USB-C charging ports, a wireless charging mat, and a 15-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio system.
Rear Seating
Although it’s small in size, the back seat offers ample space. As someone who is 5’10”, I have plenty of leg and headroom. The flat floor provides comfortable seating for five people. High-quality materials are also found in the rear seats, and passengers have individual USB-C charging ports and climate control.
Cargo
The power-operated tailgate provides 24.4 cubic feet of storage with the seats in place, increasing to 55.1 cubic feet when the seats are lowered. It also features extra storage beneath the floor, such as a jack and a full-size spare tire—items that aren’t commonly included in this category.
Powertrain
Every ADX model is equipped with a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that delivers 190 horsepower and 179 pound-feet of torque. This engine is combined with a continuously variable transmission. Front-wheel drive comes as standard, while all-wheel drive is an option on select trims such as this one.
Drive Review
While on the road, the ADX starts up without issues, featuring animations in the digital dashboard. A helpful feature is the electronic parking brake release, which turns off automatically when you press the accelerator.
Drive modes consist of Comfort, Sport, and additional options, which can be chosen using a switch located near the gear lever. The Comfort setting makes the vehicle’s reactions more relaxed for urban driving, whereas the Sport mode enhances the throttle and steering for a more dynamic experience.
