The Turbulent Relationship Between Christina Haack and Josh Hall
Christina Haack’s relationship with Josh Hall was anything but smooth. The couple married in a private courthouse ceremony on October 6, 2021, after dating for just over six months. They later held a more formal wedding in Maui in 2022. At first, their romance seemed strong from the outside; they posted affectionate messages on social media and Hall even appeared in episodes of Haack’s HGTV show, “Christina in the Country.” However, things took a turn when they began filming their competitive house flipping show, “The Flip Off,” which also featured Haack’s first husband, Tarek El Moussa, and his second wife, Heather Rae El Moussa. This marked the beginning of the end for Haack and Hall.
The Struggles Behind the Scenes
While “The Flip Off” may have seemed like a fun idea on paper, it quickly turned into a source of tension. Hall and Haack split up in the first episode of the series, with Hall filing for divorce in July 2024. Rather than cancel the show, Haack continued to work on her house flip alone, relying on Tarek and Heather throughout the process. Their messy divorce created both personal and professional drama, with Haack eventually finalizing the divorce in May 2025.
A New Chapter for Haack
According to the HGTV star, she is now in a much better place. In an emotional conversation with Tarek El Moussa during the season premiere of “The Flip Off,” Haack described feeling like she was in a tornado, struggling to keep her head above water. She admitted that the years since 2016 had been incredibly hard, taking a real toll on her mental health. Despite the challenges, she has been working on healing and improving her relationships through positive communication, independence, and balance.
Financial Struggles and Legal Battles
After the marriage ended, Haack had to navigate the legal side of the divorce. Speaking on SiriusXM’s “Jeff Lewis Live,” she described the process as difficult, even though it didn’t go to trial. She mentioned that the mediation took around 12 hours, and while the outcome wasn’t great, it was finally resolved. According to reports, Hall reportedly wanted $3.5 million from Haack, and there were allegations that he transferred $35,000 from her account to his. While these claims were denied, Haack hinted at giving him some money, only for him to use it to buy a Bentley without a job.
Health Issues After the Divorce
Following the split, Haack reportedly faced physical health issues such as severe fatigue, headaches, body aches, and bloating. These symptoms are not uncommon for those experiencing high levels of stress and trauma. Haack addressed these struggles in an Instagram post, emphasizing the importance of self-awareness, listening to her intuition, and focusing on healing.
A Shift in Perspective
Haack also shared how Hall’s insecurity affected her confidence and self-worth. He allegedly minimized her accomplishments and made hurtful comments about her character. She noted that Hall’s jealousy extended to her co-parenting relationship with Tarek El Moussa, which caused tension and even led her children to plead with her to leave. Haack felt the need to dim her light to avoid making Hall feel emasculated, which was emotionally draining.
Moving Forward
After the divorce, Haack found it easier to film without Hall’s interference. She shared a selfie crying after a shoot, highlighting how difficult it was to work with him. She expressed relief at no longer having to seek approval or deal with his negativity. Haack also revealed her regret over marrying Hall, stating that she would have taken different steps if she had known the consequences.
A New Beginning
Haack has taken significant steps to move on from her past, including changing her last name back to her maiden name and removing any tattoos related to Hall. She has also joked about not wanting to get married again, emphasizing her desire for independence. However, she has confirmed a new relationship with Christopher Larocca, who has received support from Tarek El Moussa. It seems Haack is finally finding peace and happiness after a tumultuous chapter in her life.
