We are all grateful he is alive, but the stroke has had a major effect on his everyday activities,” Bromstad explained.

Bromstad urged his supporters to back Girard, noting that he needed significant — and costly — physical therapy to deal with the mobility issues he experienced in his arms and legs. “I’ve partnered with his family and a remarkable organization to try and gather funds so he can keep receiving therapy. Each day of physical therapy brings him one step closer to recovery,” he wrote, including a link for donations.

Girard’s Facebook page indicates he is recovering well, but his life has changed forever. “Before the Stroke (BS), my vacations involved traveling to different parts of the world. After the Stroke (AS), my vacation consists of two weeks away from work, two weeks without doctor visits, and two weeks without physical therapy. Just two weeks of normal life,” he wrote as a caption for a 2017 post.postGirard mentioned that his mental well-being had also been significantly affected. “I’m also stepping away from anxiety, stress, worry, and fear. This is going to be a fantastic two weeks!” he exclaimed.
