Their romantic tale demonstrates that love can be just as delightful the second time around, and here’s how it came to be:

How They Met

Síle met Damien, a police officer from Cork, when she enrolled to participate in the 600km charity bike ride called Tour de Force in 2014, during which they spent five days getting to know each other under the California sun.

However, it wasn’t until they reunited at the check presentation event that feelings started to ignite and matters became romantic.

At the moment she saidRSVPThat Damien was refreshingly unfazed by her fame, explaining, “He is such a confident guy, [my being on TV] doesn’t affect him at all. I am just Síle from Spiddal, not Síle Seoige from television.”

Prior to meeting Damien, Síle was previously married to Glen Mulcahy.for three years prior to their separation in 2009.

Adding to the family

When Síle met Damien, she had recently recovered from a difficult fight with thyroid cancer that required surgery. Although she was eager to share her new relationship, she remained very private about their personal life.

It’s reasonable to assume that events moved swiftly between that time and within two years, she discovered she was pregnant with their son, Cathal.

He arrived into the worldA year later in August 2017, she weighed eight pounds and eight ounces, and she reflected on the significant moment: ‘Cathal greeted his Mommy and Daddy on 2 August… life begins.’

Seven years later, in 2024, their young son demonstrated a generous spirit by requesting contributions to the Rosbel Rooms charity instead of receiving birthday gifts.

She said ‘Yes’

Another major life event occurred in 2018 when Damien proposed to her by getting down on one knee and asking her to marry him.

We’re engaged!!! Extremely happy and shocked,’ she said at the time, noting that the news was ‘still settling in’ but ‘…I am very joyful.

In 2025, she disclosed that they became engaged on the platform where they constructed their house.

We became engaged in 2018, on the day we were heading to the planning office to check if our construction was approved. As we were going in, I wasn’t wearing any makeup, and Damien stopped at the site and basically asked, “Will you get out of the car?” I replied, “No.”

“But I did in the end. He was trying to persuade me to jump the wall and stand on the ground, and he actually asked me to marry him there,” she said. RSVP.

Fortunately, they also received planning permission on that day, otherwise, she claims the memory would have been spoiled.

Facing heartbreak

Síle and Damien went through intense heartache when she became pregnant again in 2019, but they lost their baby due to a miscarriage. She experienced a second miscarriage as well.

“I encountered something I had never heard of before—I had a missed miscarriage. It essentially means that you experience a miscarriage without any physical changes occurring,” Síle said at the time.

The surge of support they received led her to host a documentary, titled Deireadh Tochta for TG4, focusing on the sorrow of miscarriage.

Finding hope

In June 2021, Síle shared that she was expecting another child, but she was mindful of posting about it online since she understood firsthand the pain and yearning it could bring.

I’m feeling this way because I understand how difficult it can be to receive news like this. Right now, it seems like there’s a lot of baby-related content on Instagram, which is truly beautiful, amazing, and lovely. However, I also know what it’s like when you really desire something like this or have experienced a challenging time.

Baby makes four

In November of that year, Síle and Damien were thrilled.when their young daughter Cliodhna was born safely.

“Big baby boom energy happening here. I’ll write a detailed post in the next few days, but everything’s wonderful. Broken yet joyful. Thanks for the support,” she happily shared at the time.

Finding their forever home

Síle, Damien, and their family finally discovered their permanent home in Galway and settled there in the summer of 2024.

They have invested years in constructing and adorning every part of their seaside sanctuary andno one was more delighted to relocate, although she acknowledges it was a demanding experience.

I’m aware of how fortunate I am, truly, but I also recognize the effort we’ve put in to reach this stage, and it hasn’t been without its challenging times, trust me!

She added a charming photo of their children having their first bath in their new house, captioning it: A huge day in our lives, thank you all for the kind wishes. Sorry I couldn’t reply. Today was hectic, and I’m completely exhausted.

Síle reaches a ‘bittersweet’ conclusion on her daughter’s birthday

When her daughter turned three in November, Síle announced that she and Damien hadchose not to reveal their daughter’s face decided against displaying their daughter’s face opted not to show their daughter’s face made the choice to conceal their daughter’s face selected not to expose their daughter’s face resolved not to display their daughter’s face went with the decision to keep their daughter’s face hidden concluded not to show their daughter’s face took the stance of not revealing their daughter’s face agreed not to present their daughter’s faceonline anymore.

She said it was “bittersweet, because we love our children and want to show them off,” but not revealing their children’s faces feels like “the right choice for our family.”

Saying I Do

In August 2025, Síle revealed that she and Damien had exchanged vows with their children present.

“We accomplished something… On Thursday, August 21st, I married the love of my life,” Síle wrote, accompanied by a beautiful photo from the event at the Connemara Coast Hotel.

Síle continued, “After 10.5 years as a couple — including a major move west and constructing our lifelong home by the ocean — we finally got married.”

Encircled by our loved ones, during a private and unpretentious ceremony, it turned out to be everything we wished for—and even more. I feel like the most fortunate woman on earth.
