Kacie Claims She Wasn’t Invited to “Love Is Blind” Episode 9 Reunion: ‘I Actually Reached Out’

Behind the Scenes of a Broken Engagement

The latest season of Love Is Blind has sparked a lot of conversation, especially around the unexpected absence of Kacie McIntosh from a recent group event. This incident has led to questions about the dynamics between the cast members and how their relationships were handled both on and off the show.

Kacie was notably missing from the pod squad reunion party featured in the ninth episode of the season. She expressed her confusion after learning that her ex-fiancé, Patrick Suzuki, had been invited. “I wasn’t invited,” she told Entertainment Weekly. “I wasn’t invited to the group event. At the time I was very confused. I actually reached out because I heard he got invited and I was wondering why I wasn’t.”

Creator’s Perspective

When asked about Kacie’s claims, Love Is Blind creator Chris Coelen shared his perspective. “I’m not the person who specifically hands out invitations to that, but generally everyone is invited,” he said. “I can’t accurately tell you about how the information was or wasn’t relayed to her.”

This statement left some questions unanswered, as it raised concerns about the communication process among the cast members. The reunion party in episode 9 brought together engaged couples with many of the singles they had connected with during the pods. It was during this event that Patrick revealed some startling information about his relationship with Kacie.

A New Chapter for Patrick

Patrick appeared at the party to share that he hadn’t seen Kacie one-on-one since leaving the show, despite thinking they were still engaged. He mentioned that he couldn’t get through to her on the phone and that she had instructed him to tell everyone they were broken up. He also said he asked for the ring back and she refused, leading to a complete silence between them.

At the event, Patrick reunited with Anna Yuan, someone he had connected with in the pods until she ghosted him. During the gathering, he told Anna that if she had stayed on the show, he would have gotten engaged to her instead. This revelation made sense to Kacie, who realized why she wasn’t there.

Kacie’s Side of the Story

Kacie shared her own version of events, stating that she had reached out to Patrick first. “We got back on the same day and I got his number through another cast mate and found him on Instagram,” she said. “I just wanted to check in on him — I did just end his experience too, and I felt horrible about it and I was thinking about him a ton.”

She described how they met in person two days after returning home, but she wanted a more private conversation. However, things quickly shifted when Patrick asked for the ring back. “The first thing was, ‘Let’s meet up and talk,’ and then all of a sudden it was, ‘Did you and your mom watch the Oscars? Also, can I have the ring back for memorabilia?'” she recalled.

Emotional Impact

Kacie felt that the timing of Patrick’s request was inappropriate. “I didn’t know the full extent of him and Anna until I watched, I had heard he DMed her and honestly, when this was happening I was like, ‘That’s weird.’ But now I watch it and I’m like, ‘Oh, I was actually the second choice.'”

She confirmed that she hasn’t spoken to Patrick since their last text exchange about the ring. “I haven’t seen Patrick in over a year,” she said. “The [upcoming] reunion will be the first time I’m seeing him in over a year. I’m just freaking out about it.”
