Part-Time School Climate Coach

Under the guidance of the Chief Clinical Officer and as a part of the site/program team, the School Climate Coach is based at a public school inNorristown creates and carries out a successful behavioral intervention and safety strategy for students. Carries out additional relevant tasks as required.

Duties & Responsibilities: School Culture Management

• Oversees emergency scenarios and calms tensions through the application of conflict resolution and crisis handling methods.

• Provides individualized support to students in order to bring about changes in their behavior.

•  Encourages positive actions and guides away from unfavorable conduct.

• Offers guidance on values, along with guidelines, standards, and outcomes.

•  Applies suitable repercussions for improper conduct through adequate instruction.

• Offers strategies to change conduct.

•  Executes behavioral initiatives aimed at fostering beneficial and suitable modifications.

• Supports school personnel by working collaboratively as part of a team to create and oversee thorough behavioral objectives, targets, and strategies.

• Designs and applies behavioral strategies as part of a multi-tiered support system.

Duties and Responsibilities: Communication/Consultation.

• Collaborates with educators, advisors, and relevant staff to create constructive student interactions that foster suitable and beneficial behavioral changes, helping students achieve success.

• Shares details with parents, caregivers, or other individuals responsible for student care regarding student activities.

• Maintains uniformity in behavioral expectations through collaboration with relevant student representatives.

•  Observes and tracks students’ physical and emotional developments, and informs the relevant staff.

•  Collaborates with educators, support personnel, and school leaders to gather details and guidance regarding previous behavioral issues, and shares relevant information about behavioral matters when needed.

Duties and Responsibilities: Program/Staff Support

•  Keeps a courteous and professional relationship with program or site personnel.

• Tracks changes in student behavior, provides academic support as instructed by educators, and oversees different activities throughout the school day to ensure a secure and well-managed setting for both students and staff.

• Participates in IEP (Individualized Education Program) and student progress meetings when required.

• Stays informed about fire drill and lockdown protocols, as well as the emergency plan for the school campus.

• Follows school emergency protocols when required.

•  Participates in and delivers instruction on safety, security, physical interventions, and behavior management protocols when required.

• Manages leisure activities and additional educational prospects when needed.

• Participates in program or site team meetings and different school functions, such as specific athletic events.

Skills & Knowledge: Leadership and soft skills:

• Strong ability to communicate effectively and build positive relationships.

•  Capability to collaborate efficiently within a multidisciplinary team.

Technical skills:

•  Well-versed in the topics being taught.

•  Familiarity and expertise in using Microsoft software.

Education and Experience:• A bachelor’s degree is preferred, a master’s degree is also preferred, and experience in educational environments is advantageous.

Full-Time Board-Certified Behavior Analyst

A Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) will collaborate with students in elementary, middle, and high school within a local district in Norristown to analyze student behavior and develop strategies to address or modify challenging behaviors; support students with developmental disabilities, brain injuries, or emotional, social, or behavioral difficulties; and assist students in managing concerns like stress or anger through more effective methods or in achieving personal behavior objectives.

This role comes with a $1,000 hiring incentive.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Participate in team gatherings to gather and share information and perspectives that will support everyday engagement with particular children.
  • Attends gatherings and in-service presentations (such as first aid, CPR, emergency protocols, crisis prevention, and similar topics) to gain and/or share information relevant to job responsibilities.
  • Record student data under the guidance of a designated teacher or supervisor to aid in tracking academic development.
  • Carried out under the guidance of a designated instructor, behavior strategies developed by a group for pupils exhibiting disruptive actions or other unique requirements, with the aim of demonstrating and/or supporting educational concepts.
  • Continuously tracks and evaluates behavioral progress, along with maintaining both physical and digital records for every crisis intervention, in order to fulfill required regulations.
  • Handles and addresses emergencies and support requests by employing authorized restraints and methods to calm situations when necessary, with the goal of maintaining student safety.
  • Supervises pupils during designated times across different school settings (such as restrooms, playgrounds, corridors, bus drop-off areas, dining halls, parking lots, field excursions, assemblies, and more) to ensure a secure and encouraging educational atmosphere.
  • Offered under the guidance of a designated teacher, this involves practicing and reviewing acquired skills through various individual and group activities (such as academic subjects, social skills, daily living skills, etc.) to strengthen instructional goals; carrying out team strategies, and supporting student achievement in school.
  • Interacts directly with students (such as one-on-one support, de-escalation techniques, and safety assistance, among others) to maintain the well-being of both students and staff.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Completion of an internship and/or structured training program in behavior analysis.
  • Skills in applied behavior management and analysis.
  • The ability to communicate effectively, manage organizations, and build relationships.
  • Capacity to collaborate with a wide range of clients considering their age, level of ability, and with limited supervision.

Education and Experience:

  • Education: Master’s degree required.
  • Certification: A Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)® is required in Pennsylvania.

Full-Time School-Based Counselor

The School-Based Counselor in Ardmorewill offer early intervention therapy and guidance services in theCoatesville School DistrictCase management and mental health support services provided at the school or schools and in the homes of students who are at risk, along with consultation services for school staff, coordination support with community agencies, in order to fulfill the requirements of the Coatesville School District’s STOP School Violence Grant.

The multi-year funding, supported by theU.S. Department of Justice, allocates financial support to enhance initiatives aimed at decreasing crime in K-12 schools and their surrounding areas.

Duties and Responsibilities: Services to Students

• Recognize students who require trauma-related assistance and offer prevention, assessment, connection to resources, and therapeutic interventions for those potentially in need of support.

• Offer therapeutic and counseling approaches that are sensitive to trauma for students who are at risk, including group, individual, and family sessions.

• Offer guidance and various support strategies to children and their families who have faced trauma or are vulnerable to it, including those with limited financial resources, without a home, in foster care, involved with the legal system, without employment, dealing with mental health issues or drug addiction, or not attending school or at risk of leaving it.

• Offer support and coordination for students and their families who need access to various resources.

• Offer high-quality trauma assistance and mental health care services.

• Offer services in the home environment for families of students who have faced or are vulnerable to trauma, such as those with limited financial resources, without a stable place to live, part of the child protection system, or involved with the youth justice system.

Duties and Responsibilities: Services to School Personnel

• Help educators implement effective methods for managing student behavior.

• Equip educators with key details to gain a deeper insight into elements (cultural, social, economic, family-related, health-related, etc.) that influence a student’s academic success and conduct.

• Educate school personnel about trauma-sensitive teaching methods to create secure, consistent, and supportive educational settings that address and reduce the impact of trauma.

Duties and Responsibilities: Service to Districts

• Offer guidance on educational laws and school regulations, such as IDEA and Section 504.

• Help in creating effective approaches to encourage positive behavior.

• Help in creating and carrying out educational initiatives, such as those focused on safety and bullying.

• Create different initiatives for students who leave school, skip classes, engage in misconduct, and similar issues.

Duties and Responsibilities: Services to Parents/Families

• Collaborate with parents to help them provide support for their children’s transition to school.

• Reduce family tension to help the child perform better in school and within the community.

• Help parents connect with and make use of school and local community resources.

• Address the issues within a child’s home environment, school, and community that influence their ability to adapt in school.

• Secure and manage local resources to address students’ requirements.

• Offer medical services and intervention approaches by organizing the support from qualified applicants and integrated care groups, public health agencies, non-profit youth service organizations, and local community groups.

• Encourage and support dialogue among the school, local community, and police departments.

• Expand availability of high-quality trauma-sensitive support services and mental health care by connecting the community with regional trauma resources and mental health systems.

• Assist school districts in obtaining proper assistance from social and mental health organizations.

• Promote the development and enhancement of community and school services to better address the requirements of students and their families.

• Bring together the support of family, school, and the community to help the child achieve the best possible learning outcomes within their educational program.
