The post Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ 53-player lineup forecasts for the 2025 NFL season appeared first on Muara Digital Team.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneershas a strong lineup, and this strength is already making an impact even before the season has begun as the team has beendecimated by injuries. The condition of the Buccaneers will lead to an intriguing final roster decision. So, which players will secure a spot on the 53-player team after the cuts on Tuesday?
Quarterback (2):

Baker Mayfield, Kyle Trask
Baker Mayfield has emerged as a top-tier player since joining the Buccaneers. He has been selected to the Pro Bowl in both of his seasons with the team, including a season where he threw for 41 touchdowns. Teddy Bridgewater had left football but returned to the Buccaneers to vie for the backup quarterback role, butKyle Traskwill act as QB2 for the fourth consecutive season.
Running back (3):
Bucky Irving, Rachaad White, Sean Tucker
The Buccaneers possess a strong duo at the running back position, enabling them to carry only three players on their 53-man roster. Bucky Irving had an outstanding first season, and Tampa Bay continues to have full faith in Rachaad White even though his rushing stats haven’t always been efficient. Sean Tucker will receive limited touches, but he is expected to take full advantage of his opportunities.
Receiver (6):

Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, Emeka Egbuka, Sterling Shepard, Tez Johnson, Ryan Miller
At maximum fitness, the Buccaneers possess thebest defensive units in the NFL. Mike Evans consistently reaches 1,000 receiving yards each season, while Chris Godwin typically tops the team in receptions. Godwin was leading the NFL in catches before he suffered an ankle injury last year. The Buccaneers also selected Emeka Egbuka in the first round, and the Ohio State player has been atraining camp/preseason standout. Jalen McMillan also had an outstanding first season last year.
Unfortunately, Godwin’s 2025 debut has been postponed.due to the previously mentioned injury, however, reports indicate he is still expected to make the initial 53-man roster.McMillan may not have the same fortune. The receiver suffered a severe fall and injured his neck, which might result in him beginning the season on short-term injured reserve. As the injured receivers regain their health, Sterling Shepard and Ryan Miller will have to rise to the occasion. Tez Johnson, one of thelightest NFL players ever, will also serve as the team’s return specialist.
Tight end (4):
Cade Otton, Payne Durham, Ko Kieft, Devin Culp
Cade Otton made progress in his growth during the previous season, and he returns as Mayfield’s reliable support. Ko Kieft serves as the blocking tight end, while Payne Durham is a strong player who excels at catching high passes. Devin Culp is definitely on the verge of making the roster and is a good fit for one of the top 53 positions. He secures the last spot on the team ahead of cornerback Kindle Vildor.
Offensive line (10):
Tristan Wirfs, Ben Bredeson, Graham Barton, Luke Goedeke, Cody Mauch, Mike Jordan, Charlie Heck, Jake Majors, Elijah Klein, Luke Haggard
The Buccaneers have suffered from injuries even before the regular season began. Like Godwin, Tristan Wirfs has beenactivated from the PUP, but he might still struggle with timing during the early part of the season. Wirfs is among the top tackles in football, but he underwent surgery toward the end of the off-season.
Other key players in the offensive line include Ben Bredeson, Graham Barton, Luke Goedeke, and Cody Mauch. Several talented undrafted rookies are also making an impact on the offensive line, such as Jake Majors, Ben Scott, and Benjamin Chukwuma. Majors has secured a spot on the 53-man roster.
Defensive line (7):

Vita Vea, Calijah Kancey, Logan Hall, Adam Gotsis, Elijah Roberts, Greg Gaines, C.J. Brewer
Since the Buccaneers use a standard 3-4 defense and often employ multiple nickel formations, it will be difficult to keep seven defensive linemen on the roster. However, there are too many talented players in this position group to make an unexpected release. Vita Vea is a dominant force who blocks running paths and can pressure the quarterback more effectively than most players of his size.
Calijah Kancey topped the team with 7.5 sacks last year, while Logan Hall, Adam Gotsis, Elijah Roberts, Greg Gaines, and C.J. Brewer will all play a role in the defensive line rotation.
A prominent athlete who wasalready released is Desmond Watson,The defensive tackle, who weighed 464 pounds when he left Florida. Watson has not yet reached his weight targets, which has kept him from playing on the field. Maybe the team will re-sign him to the practice squad.
Linebacker (8):
Haason Reddick, Lavonte David, SirVocea Dennis, Yaya Diaby, Anthony Walker, Chris Braswell, Deion Jones, Anthony Nelson
Lavonte David continues to perform at a top level as a middle linebacker. He has been a part of the team since 2012. Haason Reddick will also be with the Buccaneers this season. The edge rusher went through a difficult contract standoff last year and had a tough time playing for the New York Jets when he came back. The Buccaneers are expecting a strong rebound season from the former player who regularly recorded double-digit sacks. After all, Tampa Bay really needs more pressure on the quarterback this season.
As repeatedly mentioned, the Buccaneers have faced some unfortunate injury issues this season. David Walker, a linebacker, is already on the injured reserve, while Anthony Walker is dealing with a leg injury. Walker could be placed on the non-football injury list, but the team might choose to keep him on the 53-man roster from the start.
Cornerback (6):
Jamel Dean, Benjamin Morrison, Zyon McCollum, Jacob Parrish, Bryce Hall, Josh Hayes
The Buccaneers made significant investments in the cornerback position by selecting Benjamin Morrison and Jacob Parrish in the second and third rounds, with the latter securing the starting nickel cornerback role. Jamel Dean and Zyon McCollum are also starters. Josh Hayes excels on special teams.
Bryce Hall suffered an injury in his only game last season, but he has the potential to make a comeback this year. Hall previously served as a starting player for the Jets. Vildor has made a positive impression during the preseason, but he is likely to be cut due to roster limitations.
Safety (4):
Antoine Winfield, Tykee Smith, Kaevon Merriweather, Christian Izien
The Buccaneers’ defensive backfield was frequently discussed afterShilo Sanders, the son of Deion Sanders, has been released.Sanders wasted his opportunity for a roster spot after being ejected from a preseason game for throwing a punch. Kerby Joseph has now passed Antoine Winfield as thehighest-paid safetyin soccer, but the Buccaneers’ star remains one of the top players in the industry.
Tykee Smith will be the second starter in the safety position. Christian Izien is capable of playing either safety or nickel corner. J.J. Roberts was making progress toward earning a spot on the team, but the undrafted rookie sustained a season-ending injury and will now be placed on injured reserve.
Specialists (3):
Riley Dixon, Chase McLaughlin, Evan Deckers
Riley Dixon offers a brief glimpse at being a punter. The Syracuse graduate has the ability to execute a trick play if the Buccaneers decide to be creative. Chase McLaughlin had his most successful season yet as Tampa Bay’s kicker last year, and both he and Nixon will depend on consistent long snapping from Evan Deckers.
