President Donald Trump gave a fierce address at the United Nations General Assembly on Tuesday morning, criticizing the global organization and highlighting the achievements of his administration.
Trump did not hold back in his one-hour speech, starting with criticism of his predecessor, former President Joe Biden, and then targeting world leaders on issues ranging from migration to the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
“A year ago, our nation was facing significant challenges. However, today, just eight months into my leadership, we have become the most dynamic country globally, with no other nation coming close,” he stated at the beginning of his speech.

Trump highlighted the U.S. as possessing the “most robust” borders, military, and global connections.
The president then shifted his focus to the United Nations, claiming it had failed to meet its objectives and even alleged that it had contributed to additional issues.
What is the role of the United Nations?” Trump questioned. “It holds a lot of potential. However, it’s not even close to reaching that potential. For the most part, at least for now, all they seem to do is issue a very strongly-worded letter and then never take any follow-up action. It’s just empty words, and empty words don’t resolve conflicts. The only thing that ends wars is action.
Trump claimed the organization overlooked global conflicts that he asserts he resolved, positioning himself as a peacebuilder.
Everyone claims I deserve the Nobel Peace Prize for each of these accomplishments,” Trump stated. “However, the true reward for me will be the sons and daughters who are able to grow up with their mothers and fathers, as millions of people are no longer dying in never-ending and dishonorable conflicts.
Trump warns of sanctions against Russia, but claims Europe needs to contribute more
Trump stated that the United States is ready to implement a “very strong set of significant tariffs” on Russia if Moscow does not agree to a peace settlement.
But he stated that other nations should reduce their purchases of Russian oil and energy products “otherwise we’re all wasting a lot of time.”

“Europe needs to increase its efforts. They can’t continue with their current actions. They’re purchasing oil and gas from Russia while simultaneously opposing Russia. This is a source of embarrassment for them,” Trump stated.
Trump also used the opportunity to condemn China and India, labeling them as the primary supporters of the conflict in Ukraine due to their acquisition of Russian oil.
The leader has been warning for several months about the possibility of stricter economic sanctions against Russia, but hasn’t implemented them yet. On Tuesday, he didn’t specify what conditions would lead him to conclude that Russia isn’t seeking peace, although he mentioned that the conflict is “not portraying Russia in a positive light, but rather in a negative one.”

Trump criticizes global leaders regarding migration and renewable energy
Trump stated that other nations should follow the U.S. approach regarding immigration.
Not only is the U.N. failing to address the issues it’s supposed to handle, but it frequently ends up causing additional problems for us,” Trump stated. “The clearest example is the number one political issue of our time, the crisis of uncontrolled migration. It’s completely out of control. Your countries are suffering as a result.
To leaders assembled in the conference room, Trump stated: “Your nations are heading towards ruin.”
He also urged leaders to dismiss policies aimed at addressing climate change and global warming, incorrectly referring to climate change as “the biggest scam ever” and promoting his administration’s decision to leave the Paris Agreement.
“If you don’t distance yourself from this green scam, your nation will face failure,” Trump stated.

Trump calls for Hamas to free captives and expresses disagreement regarding the establishment of a Palestinian state.
Regarding Israel’s conflict with Hamas in Gaza, Trump stated that the global community must “unite” to “end the war in Gaza.” He emphasized his desire to see the hostages freed right away, but did not provide a specific plan for moving discussions forward.
Trump kept voicing his opposition to nations that are acknowledging Palestinian statehood. Several important U.S. allies, including France, have recently declared their recognition of a Palestinian state.

“Now, as though to promote ongoing tension, some members of this group are attempting to unilaterally acknowledge a Palestinian state. The benefits would be too significant for Hamas militants in relation to their crimes,” Trump stated.
Trump instead urged the group to deliver a unified statement to Hamas demanding the release of hostages.
“Individuals seeking peace should come together with a single message: free the hostages immediately. Simply free the hostages right now. Thank you,” Trump stated.
Trump warns drug traffickers, “We will eliminate you completely”
The president emphasized his administration’s recent attacks on suspected narcoterrorists from Venezuela, marking an unprecedented deployment of lethal military force against a criminal organization thathas raised legal questions.
We have recently started using the powerful military of the United States to target Venezuela,” Trump stated in his speech. “Terrorists and drug trafficking groups led by Nicolas Maduro are every criminal bringing harmful drugs into the United States.
“To each terrorist criminal bringing harmful drugs into the United States. Be aware that we will eliminate you completely. That’s our current action,” Trump stated.
